Version a.4 released

Posted by / in Announcements, Development / No comments yet

You’ve Got Mail!

Yes, we’ve recently added Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks to our team  for a flirty yet consequential movie about how big box stores push little ones out of business… oh wait, until the Internet pushes them out of business.  Wait, where was I?

Oh yeah, we now have messages flowing at Voterheads!  Right now it’s just for new users… just enough up to make Matt crazy so he’ll go make me some decently designed stuff.  Once that’s done we’ll be onto notifications!  So, if you want to see my *totally awesome* design skills at work, go ahead and sign up as a new user.  go ahead… I’ll wait….

Version a.3 released

Posted by / in Announcements, Development / No comments yet

We’ve got big thumbs and we cannot lie!

For Version a.3 we are introducing a friendlier interface for voting, the big thumb! Click on the top side of the thumb to vote up and the bottom side to vote down.  Voting tallies for and against each measure are shown along side. Let us know if you think it’s as fun to use as we do!

Some other changes:

  •  The agenda items on the meeting summary pages now match the standard topic view (and get the thumbs!)
  • General tweaking of the meeting summary page to improve the look and performance
  • Various bug fixes.

Knight News Challenge

Posted by / in Announcements / No comments yet

We’re happy to announce that we’ve just entered the Knight News Challenge. The Challenge? Improve the way citizens and governments interact. Sounds like us, doesn’t it?

The Knight News Challenge will give a share of $5 million to each winner of the Challenge, in “funding and support  from Knight’s network of influential peers and advisors.” There are 825 entries and the Foundation hasn’t specified how many winners it will choose. The first stage — called the “Feedback” phase — gives the public a chance to comment on and applaud entries so that they can be revised and developed based on feedback. Then, on March 29 (just 9 days away!), the semi-finalists (again, who knows how many) will enter the “Refinement” phase , which gives entries another 7 days to revise and finalize their submissions before finalists are selected and interviewed.  Winners will be announced on June 25, 2013.
