We’ve always wanted to know what interests you, we’ve just been a little limited… to about ten categories. With our new release, we’ve opened the gates! Now in your user profile section, the ‘Interests’ tabs is fully functional.
To add interests to your list, simply start typing in the search box. A list of available interests will appear. Click one that matches your fancy and click the ‘Add Interest’ button. Once you’ve added your interest, go ahead and rate it. Simply move the slider to whatever stance best matches your position.
So why do we ask your position? First, we want to know where you stand on these issues because, later on, it’s going to help us compare your stance against candidates for office so we can tell you how well they match up. Second, it helps us determine your level of interest. If you’ve bothered to select something, we figure you must be interested and start alerting you whenever a topic is coming up at a meeting that matches that interest. Getting too many alerts? Just slide your stance so your only ‘somewhat’ ‘For’ or ‘Against’ a topic. That lets us know to only alert you when an interest is getting a lot of attention from your neighbors.
